Municipal Infrastructure Designer

About this job

Plans and designs municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers, watermains, and related systems for regional projects. Prepares detailed design drawings, 3D models, quantity estimates, and provides design support to project management and construction teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess infrastructure project plans and determine requirements for pre-engineering, functional, and final contract drawings
  • Develop functional engineering design alternatives and create renderings for public review
  • Design roads, intersections, bike lanes, sidewalks, watermains, and sewer systems; create 3D surface models and quantity estimates
  • Collaborate with GIS team to create and maintain corporate asset management databases
  • Conduct technical and design reviews of Ministry applications for infrastructure projects

Qualifications

  • 3-year college diploma/degree in civil engineering plus 5 years of related experience
  • Eligibility for membership in Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in Civil Engineering at technologist level
  • Knowledge of estimating principles and technical drawing layout and design

Hours: 35 per week, Monday–Friday 8:30am–4:30pm
