The Museum Site Coordinator oversees daily operations, staff, programs and events at Fort York National Historic Site to deliver engaging and inclusive visitor experiences. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, motivate and train assigned staff; schedule work and evaluate performance
  • Coordinate museum programs, special events, rentals and community initiatives including cultural festivals
  • Administer budget, control expenditures and maintain spending within approved limitations
  • Develop and deliver educational and exhibit programs for various audiences
  • Ensure daily museum operations and compliance with safety, security and occupational health and safety legislation

Qualifications

  • Considerable experience establishing and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders and community groups
  • Experience supervising museum site operations and staff in a unionized environment
  • Experience coordinating museum, heritage, cultural or public events
  • Experience administering bookings, permits and site rentals for cultural or public facilities
  • Post-secondary education in Heritage Management, Cultural Management, Event Management, Museum Studies or equivalent combination of education and lived experience
