Key Responsibilities
Supervise food production, food service, and nutritional care for residents and oversee resident food service areas
Supervise, motivate, train and manage assigned staff; schedule work; monitor performance; authorize vacation and overtime
Develop, recommend and administer annual budget for the unit and control expenditures within approved limits
Conduct nutritional screening at admission, quarterly, and annually; monitor resident diets; develop care plans
Ensure food production and service meet safety, sanitation, and compliance standards per OHS, Public Health, and Ministry of Long-Term Care regulations
Qualifications
Experience in healthcare or institutional food services management, specifically in a long-term care setting
Active Member of the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (CSNM)
Experience in nutrition screening and monitoring diets to meet nutritional care needs
Experience supervising and managing staff in a unionized environment
Thorough knowledge of quantity food preparation, service, safety and sanitation standards
