Full-time permanent Operations Engineer for the Stormwater Management and Environmental Monitoring Unit. Responsible for reviewing stormwater infrastructure applications, assessing infrastructure problems and performance, developing solutions, and providing technical guidance and expert advice on stormwater infrastructure operations and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Review and assess new infrastructure applications related to development and City-led projects, including stormwater management infrastructure and design reports
Assess stormwater infrastructure problems, conditions and performance; develop solutions and manage technical studies
Assist with developing and updating stormwater infrastructure standard operating procedures and specifications
Provide technical guidance to field monitoring programs regarding equipment location and regulatory compliance
Act as expert point of contact for engineering advice on rehabilitation, design/construction, commissioning and assumption of stormwater infrastructure
Qualifications
4-year university degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university
Minimum 7 years professional experience in stormwater infrastructure design, construction and operations, including project management
Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)
Knowledge of Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks Stormwater Management Guidelines and Ministry of Natural Resources Floodplain Management Guidelines
Strong research, analytical, communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
