Operations Support Coordinator role in the Water & Wastewater Treatment Division at Halton Region, reporting to the Supervisor of Treatment Technical Services. The position provides technical, administrative, and analytical support to water and wastewater operations teams across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical, administrative, and analytical support to water and wastewater operations teams on capital, technical, and optimization issues
- Coordinate and prepare regulatory submissions, reports, and compliance documentation for environmental and service quality requirements
- Analyze treatment process performance data, operational trends, and laboratory results to identify optimization opportunities
- Prepare and coordinate tender requests, quotations, and proposals with consultants and contractors
- Lead and coordinate treatment process studies, pilot projects, and performance evaluations with data analysis and reporting
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 5 years' experience in wastewater treatment (water treatment experience considered)
- Comprehensive knowledge of provincial legislation including Safe Drinking Water Act, Ontario Water Resources Act, Environmental Protection Act, and Environmental Compliance Approvals
- Working knowledge of municipal water and wastewater treatment processes and technologies
- Demonstrated ability to prepare technical reports, regulatory submissions, and business cases; strong written and oral communication skills
