The City of Beaumont seeks a Water & Wastewater Operator to operate and maintain municipal water facilities, wastewater collection systems, and drainage facilities. The role requires Alberta Environment certification, excellent communication skills, and a strong focus on safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain Alberta Environment certification and keep accurate, detailed records
- Maintain and operate water distribution systems, including pump houses
- Inspect residential and commercial water and sewer systems, addressing concerns and complaints
- Conduct sanitary sewer and storm water sampling and testing
- Maintain and monitor outflows and operation of storm water lift stations
Qualifications
- Certified Water and Wastewater Technician (NAIT graduate or equivalent)
- Minimum Level II Wastewater Collection Certificate and Level II Water Distribution Certificate
- 5 years' experience in municipal infrastructure including water and sewer
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Confined Space Certificate, H2S Alive Certificate, Standard Level C First Aid and CPR, and WHMIS
