About this job

Full-time temporary paramedic position providing emergency medical care and transportation of patients in ambulances. Requires MOHLTC-recognized paramedic training, AEMCA certification, and a valid Ontario driver's license.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drives ambulances and provides medical care to sick, injured, and convalescent patients
  • Provides casualty care according to MOHLTC BLS Patient Care Standards under physician direction
  • Monitors, observes, and records patient condition changes and carries out directed treatment
  • Maintains ambulance cleanliness and performs inventory checks of supplies and equipment
  • Completes all required documentation per MOHLTC standards and Toronto Paramedic Services policies

Qualifications

  • Successfully completed MOHLTC-recognized Primary Care Paramedic course from a College of Applied Arts and Technology
  • Successfully completed or be AEMCA pending per Ontario Ambulance Act
  • Current Symptom Relief and Defibrillation certification under Ontario Base Hospital Group
  • Class F Ontario Driver's License or better; proof of current driver's abstract meeting City standards
  • Proof of mandatory immunization as required by Ontario Ambulance Act and City of Toronto
