Temporary full-time Park Attendant 2 role in Developed Parks performing maintenance, repair, and minor construction work on parks and recreational areas, including supervision of subordinates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and repair of parks and recreational facilities
  • Care and upkeep of picnic, barbecue, and beach areas
  • Maintenance of sports fields and playing areas
  • Litter collection and care of park facilities and amenities
  • Supervision of one or more subordinates engaged in related tasks

Qualifications

  • Up to high school graduation and sound experience in parks operations and maintenance
  • Considerable knowledge of assigned park areas, adjacent buildings, facilities, and governing rules and regulations
  • Sound knowledge of methods, practices, and tools used in routine repair and maintenance tasks
  • Working knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and equipment for maintaining grass fields, picnic, and beach areas
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License for British Columbia

At a glance

Schedule: 80 hours bi-weekly; Monday to Friday 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM (shifts range Monday to Sunday 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM)
Temporary full time until May 14, 2027
Subject to Note 'C' of Schedule 'B' of CUPE 23 Outside Division Collective Agreement
