Personal Support Worker role at Halton Region's long-term care facility providing activities of daily living care to residents. This is a temporary contract position (up to 12 months) working evenings in a nursing and personal care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and activities of daily living to residents
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families
- Observe and report changes in resident status in Point of Care
- Record necessary data on flow sheets
- Work cooperatively with team members and receive direction from registered staff
Qualifications
- Secondary School Graduation Diploma
- Personal Support Worker Certificate from a recognized college or current HSCPOA registration (completion date July 1, 2014 or later)
- Understanding of Residents' Bill of Rights and Ministry of Long-Term Care Compliance Standards
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and adapt to resident needs
- Team oriented with excellent communication skills
