Planner 2 in Parks & Facilities Planning leads complex planning services and capital projects for the design, construction, and revitalization of Ottawa's parks, open spaces, and recreation and cultural facilities. Key Responsibilities
Lead or undertake complex planning services and capital projects for parks, open spaces, and recreation/cultural facilities
Conduct engineering design reviews and process development applications
Participate in development of departmental parks, recreation, and cultural facility policies for Official Plan and Master Plan
Manage consultant-led projects and functionally supervise junior staff and summer/co-op students
Represent the City at internal and external meetings and committees related to facility design, construction, and revitalization
Qualifications
Completion of 4-year university degree in urban and regional planning, leisure studies, landscape architecture, or other relevant field
Minimum 5 years of related and progressively responsible professional experience in parks planning
Minimum 2 years of experience managing capital budget projects
Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) OR Landscape Architect (Full Member) with Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) is desirable
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
