About this job

Primary Care Paramedic position with Halton Region Paramedic Services providing Advanced Life Support patient care and emergency medical transport. Part-time permanent role working 24 hours per week at Woodlands Operation Centre in Oakville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Advanced Life Support patient care and perform controlled acts under Base Hospital Medical Director direction
  • Ensure safe transportation and ongoing medical care for patients to medical facilities
  • Complete Ambulance Call Reports and required documentation in timely fashion
  • Inspect ambulance, patient care equipment and supplies; complete vehicle check sheets
  • Maintain contact with Central Ambulance Communications Centre regarding vehicle status and patient transportation

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Paramedic Studies or anticipated graduation from recognized Paramedic Studies program
  • Emergency Medical Care Assistant (EMCA) or Advanced EMCA certification (or pending)
  • Valid Ottawa Paramedic Physical Abilities Test (OPPAT) or Paramedic Functional Abilities Test (PFAT)
  • Qualified to work in ambulance in Ontario per Ambulance Act and Regulations
  • Current CPR certification (Heart and Stroke Basic Life Support) or equivalent
