Project Manager for energy and carbon-reduction capital projects within Toronto Parks and Recreation Division. Reports to Senior Project Manager and leads project management on energy initiatives, retrofit projects, and net-zero transition efforts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and implementation of energy-driven capital projects from inception to completion, ensuring budget, scope, and schedule compliance
  • Review and provide technical oversight on mechanical, electrical, and architectural drawings to ensure feasibility and alignment with transition goals
  • Conduct energy assessments, electrical upgrade scope preparation, and develop long-term capital transition plans to achieve net-zero targets
  • Analyze energy and carbon data to assess consumption, GHG emissions, and project performance in accordance with IPMVP and Ontario Regulation 25/23
  • Prepare RFPs, tender documents, and technical specifications; evaluate bids and manage contractor performance

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Building Science, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience leading large-scale energy, decarbonization, and net-zero capital projects through full project lifecycle
  • Experience with project delivery, procurement, consultant and stakeholder coordination, and risk management
  • Experience analyzing energy and GHG data including benchmarking, lifecycle analysis, and business case development
  • Knowledge of relevant energy and building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements including ISO 50001 and ASHRAE standards
