Project Manager I leads planning, coordination, and delivery of municipal capital infrastructure projects including water, wastewater, transportation, and waste management work through design, procurement, construction, and closeout phases. Reports to Senior Project Advisor in Engineering, Construction & Transportation Management.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and manage capital projects from initiation through design, permitting, procurement, construction, warranty and closeout
Lead procurement of consulting and contracting services through RFQ, RFP, RFPQ and RFT processes; participate in evaluation and contract administration
Coordinate and manage consultants, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders; conduct regular reporting and performance reviews
Manage project scope, budget, schedule, contract administration, change management, risk and quality using project management tools and documentation
Conduct quality assurance including design reviews, budgeting, risk management and constructability reviews; ensure regulatory approvals and permits prior to tendering
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Engineering or Applied Sciences
Eligible to obtain Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) certification in Ontario within 4 years
Demonstrated experience delivering planning, design and/or construction municipal infrastructure projects
Demonstrated experience applying water, wastewater, waste management or transportation industry best practices and standards
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
