Project Manager I role within Engineering Services to manage City of Vancouver engineering projects involving operational technology, SCADA systems, and IoT. The position coordinates cross-functional teams through all project phases—planning, execution, control, and closeout—ensuring timely delivery within budget and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, monitor and manage project work plans including scope, budget, schedule, quality, risk and resources
  • Prepare and maintain reports on project performance, schedule, scope, invoicing, change control, and financial management
  • Lead or support procurement of technical consulting services including scope development, proposal evaluation and contract administration
  • Coordinate testing, commissioning, acceptance and transition of OT/SCADA systems into operations
  • Work collaboratively to resolve complex technical, design, operational or interpersonal issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science with minimum 4 years related experience in project management, engineering or technology implementation
  • Training in Project Management methodologies, preferably PMI-consistent
  • Strong project management experience on technology projects in OT, IoT and SCADA solutions with cyber security knowledge
  • Experience managing projects where system availability, operational continuity, safety and regulatory requirements must be maintained
  • Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to manage project budgets
