Full-time temporary project manager (up to 2 years) in Infrastructure Services managing municipal infrastructure projects from design through construction, including roadways, sewers, utilities, and related facilities. Reports to Design and Construction Municipal Branch.
Key Responsibilities
Manage total project delivery across all phases from inception through consultant selection, design, tendering, and construction
Monitor, track and report on project status; approve all project expenditures
Arrange project-related testing and handle commissioning/turnover to operating branches
Participate in project identification, prioritization and planning; organize environmental impact assessments
Manage activities of technical staff, consultants and contractors; coordinate with other government levels and external agencies
Qualifications
Completion of 4-year university degree in Engineering or Applied Science or equivalent
Minimum 5 years professional experience in planning, design and construction of municipal infrastructure
Minimum 3 years project management experience
Knowledge of engineering planning, design, construction and rehabilitation of municipal structures and utilities
Knowledge of federal, provincial and engineering legislation, regulations, standards, codes and by-laws pertaining to environmental assessment, building, fire, health and safety, construction
