Project Manager for Priority Development Review reports to the Manager and advances a portfolio of high-profile development applications through Toronto's review and approval processes. The role focuses on priority sectors including affordable housing, shelters, healthcare, and schools, requiring coordinated leadership across multiple city divisions and stakeholder groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed plans and policies regarding program-specific requirements
  • Guide advancement of prioritized development applications through City's review process from submission through planning approvals
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and milestones to coordinate activities and monitor progress
  • Manage portfolio governance, reporting, escalation processes and track key decisions, commitments and dependencies
  • Manage relationships with developers and external stakeholders; build productive relationships and establish clear expectations

Qualifications

  • Considerable experience managing land development projects or complex development applications and navigating approval processes
  • Considerable experience leading projects and teams
  • Experience developing project plans, coordinating schedules and milestones through multiple project stages
  • Experience identifying and mitigating project risks, dependencies and issues in complex projects
  • Knowledge of municipal development approval processes including Zoning By-law Amendment and Site Plan Control applications and Ontario Planning Act
