Temporary full-time public health nurse position focused on infectious diseases, providing clinical services in mobile and community-based settings with an emphasis on vaccines, testing, and treatment of infectious diseases.

Key Responsibilities

Provides case management, health counselling, clinical services, education, and resources to individuals and groups; completes screening and intake assessments
Maintains client records (electronic and manual) and completes documentation, reports, and statistics
Develops and implements communication strategies to educate on health promotion and disease prevention at individual, community, and policy levels
Implements community engagement strategies and coordinates consultation and planning teams within the Department and community
Participates in surveillance activities, data analysis, immunization campaigns, and infectious disease case and contact management

Qualifications

BScN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing)
Registered Nurse meeting College of Nurses of Ontario standards and Regulated Health Professions Act requirements
Knowledge of Ontario Public Health Standards and professional nursing competencies

At a glance

Temporary full-time, up to 8 months (ending May 28, 2027)

35 hours per week

Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm (normal workday may be altered within 8:00am to 10:00pm; evening clinic 12pm to 8pm; up to 4 Saturdays per year starting July 1, 2026)

Union: ONA (Ontario Nurses' Association), ONA 15 PH Grade
