Contract position teaching aquatic courses including lifesaving, swim instruction, and first aid. Role involves instructing certification courses and potentially assisting with staff training at multiple Burnaby pool facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct Aquatic Leadership and Lifesaving courses such as LSI, SI, National Lifeguard - Pool Option, and Standard First Aid
  • Conduct re-certification clinics
  • Possibly assist with in-service training for existing Lifeguard/Instructor staff
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor Trainer, Lifesaving Instructor Trainer, National Lifeguard Instructor, or First Aid Instructor certification at time of application
  • Valid Class 5 License for British Columbia (considered an asset)

Hours vary based on course; shifts up to 8 hours, 7:00 AM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Sunday, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Locations: Eileen Dailly Pool, Fred Randall Pool, Bonsor Recreation Centre, MacPherson Outdoor Pool, Kensington Outdoor Pool, Robert Burnaby Outdoor Pool, Central Outdoor Pool, Cameron Community Centre (when built), Burnaby Lake Aquatic Centre (when built)
