Supervisory recreation programming position responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing community recreation programs for the Preschool and Children's portfolio at West End Community Centre, including oversight of daycamps and part-time staff.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate and direct community centre recreation programming in assigned areas
Make recommendations on development, implementation, and discontinuation of recreation programs
Recruit, instruct, and supervise part-time staff, volunteers, and group leaders
Monitor programs, maintain statistical records, and prepare program evaluations
Oversee seasonal budgets and provide input into annual budget preparations

Qualifications

Post-secondary degree in Recreation or related discipline with sound experience, OR post-secondary degree in any discipline plus considerable experience in recreation
Considerable knowledge of philosophy and objectives of planned community recreation programs
Working knowledge of Board of Parks and Recreation policies
Ability to organize, promote, and direct group recreational activities
Ability to recruit, instruct, and review work of recreational personnel
