Registered Nurse (Casual) position in long-term care homes operated by Halton Region, reporting to the Manager of Resident Care. Role involves providing leadership to nursing and personal care teams, administering medication, supervising staff, and delivering quality resident care in a family-like atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for designated home areas ensuring resident care meets Ministry standards and organizational philosophy
  • Administer medication and manage drug/narcotic security according to policies and legislation
  • Supervise front-line staff and provide direction on resident and family issues
  • Complete individualized plans of care and assess residents' health status on an ongoing basis
  • Perform administrative duties including scheduling and act as Charge Nurse in absence of management

Qualifications

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification with Healthcare Provider CPR Level C
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of the Residents' Bill of Rights and Compliance Standards set out by Ministry of Long Term Care
