Casual Registered Practical Nurse position in Long-Term Care under the direction of Registered Nurses and management. Responsible for resident assessments, care planning, medication administration, supervision of non-registered staff, and coordination of care for assigned home areas.
Key Responsibilities
Complete resident assessments on admission, readmission, and quarterly; monitor resident conditions and report health status changes
Develop, modify, and evaluate resident plans of care; ensure care interventions are carried out as specified
Administer and document medications and treatments within College of Nurses limitations; seek RN authorization for PRN medication when resident condition is unstable
Supervise non-registered staff to ensure appropriate nursing interventions are established and implemented
Participate in quarterly reviews; document per established policies and MOHLTC/College of Nurses standards; communicate changes to residents and multidisciplinary team
Qualifications
Registered Practical Nursing Diploma
Current Certificate of Competency with College of Nurses for Ontario
Successful completion of Drug Administration course
Current CPR certificate
