About this job

Regular full-time skilled labourer position reporting to the Manager of Road Operations, performing semi-skilled trade and general labour duties including asphalt raking, concrete finishing, equipment operation, and traffic control on road projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform semi-skilled trade activities including asphalt raking, concrete finishing, pipe laying, form work, rough carpentry, bridge and gabion repairs, brick and block laying, and sewer work
  • Operate maintenance vehicles and equipment such as tractors, excavation equipment, plow spreaders, trucks, and sidewalk plow machines
  • Perform traffic control on roadways and work projects
  • Perform duties related to Summer and Winter Control/Call Board activities
  • Work in accordance with Safe Work Standards and Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act

Qualifications

  • Ontario Secondary School Diploma, Grade 12
  • Five years operational experience in performing listed activities
  • Demonstrated ability in concrete finishing and asphalt raking
  • Previous experience in road and sewer construction and excavating
  • Valid Ontario Driver's Licence in good standing (minimum Class DZ) with no demerit points
