Temporary full-time position (5 months) to perform general roads maintenance and operate street sweeping equipment on Regional roads, including winter snow and ice control duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate street sweeper to sweep or clear Regional roads, roadsides, curbs, gutters, and catch basins
- Perform daily maintenance checks on equipment, greasing and adding fluids as required
- Remove objects too large for sweeper intake and relocate debris for disposal
- Operate single axle or tandem axle trucks for winter plowing, salting, and sanding operations
- Perform general roads maintenance activities including crack sealing, patching, dead animal removal, and drainage maintenance
Qualifications
- Grade 12 secondary school education or equivalent
- Two years of directly related experience in proper operation and use of equipment
