Security Officer or Transit Enforcement Officer reporting to the Supervisor, responsible for safety and security of City of Mississauga transit system properties or facilities while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Provide exceptional customer service to patrons and staff
Respond to emergency situations, investigate suspicious activity, and remove unauthorized persons from City property; issue fines and Trespass Cautions
Exercise powers of arrest and detention
Identify hazardous situations, conduct visual checks, and investigate personal and property incidents
Perform emergency first aid services and generate security reports for all incidents
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Law and Security, Police Sciences/Management or related discipline with minimum two years security-related experience, or equivalent combination
Demonstrated experience dealing with the public requiring excellence in customer service, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution
Able to complete First Aid/CPR certification
Ability to understand, speak and write English effectively
Valid, unrestricted Class G Driver's License with Driver's Abstract showing no more than 5 demerit points
