Senior Health Information Analyst role in Toronto Public Health's Epidemiology and Data Analytics Unit. Designs health information systems, analyzes surveillance data, creates dashboards and reports, and provides analytical expertise and leadership to support public health policy decisions and programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and prepares health status reports, information systems, dashboards, and databases
- Extracts, manages, analyzes, interprets, and reports data using appropriate statistical methods for surveillance and reporting
- Writes and executes computer programs for data extraction and analysis using Excel, STATA, Python, SAS, and/or R
- Provides consultation and support to divisional programs, staff, and internal/external clients on data collection, analysis, and interpretation
- Develops guidelines and procedures for data management, quality control, and dissemination of public health surveillance data
Qualifications
- University degree in Health Sciences, Public Health, Health Informatics, Biostatistics, or related discipline
- Extensive experience using statistical software to analyze large health datasets (SAS, R, STATA, Python, or equivalent)
- Considerable experience with population health statistical methods and collection, analysis, and interpretation of public health data
- Considerable experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, ArcGIS)
- Considerable experience with provincial health information systems (e.g., iPHIS, CRN)
