Senior Project Manager for Technical Safety in Ottawa Transit Services responsible for managing complex, multi-million dollar transportation projects from inception through completion, providing technical safety expertise, and overseeing project teams and consultants.
Key Responsibilities
Organize, direct, coordinate and supervise implementation of business and technology solutions for major capital and complex projects
Lead project teams through contracted service providers, consultants and assigned staff across all phases from inception through delivery and monitoring
Conduct root cause analyses, support investigations and risk assessments, and prepare technical reports with safety focus
Work with Trillium and Confederation Line Rail Systems, ZEB, and various teams to provide technical reviews and support
Support compliance of transit operations and facilities with applicable safety regulations and standards
Qualifications
Completion of 4-year university degree in Engineering, Architecture, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management Information Systems or related field with concentration in project planning and management
Minimum 7 years progressively responsible experience managing complex transportation-related projects, business analysis, and project/policy development
Direct experience managing project human resources including external consultants and working with project budgets/financial processes
Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
Familiarity with all applicable health and safety legislation and knowledge of workplace dangers and appropriate health and safety actions
