Full-time permanent Stationary Engineer Operator position at Ashbridges Bay Treatment Plant operating and maintaining advanced water/wastewater treatment equipment including pumps, boilers, compressors, and related systems on rotating 12-hour or 8-hour shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Operate, maintain and repair process equipment including pumps, pressure vessels, compressors, boilers, HVAC systems, digesters, and incinerators in compliance with regulations
Monitor, test, record and analyze process equipment performance; conduct chemical tests and add chemicals as required
Make operational decisions and respond to alarm conditions and emergencies to ensure operational sustainability
Maintain documentation using manual and computerized systems including logbooks, computer records, accident reports and alarm responses
Train, direct and support skilled, semi-skilled, unskilled staff and trainees as required

Qualifications

Current Certificate of Qualification as Stationary Engineer Third Class or better per O. Reg. 219/01
Valid Province of Ontario Class lG1 Driver's License and City permit for assigned vehicles/equipment
Grade 12 secondary school diploma or equivalent recognized by MOE
Knowledge of advanced wastewater and/or water treatment processes, equipment and procedures
Practical knowledge of process control automation systems and preventive maintenance programs
