Key Responsibilities
Supervise and train municipal construction inspection staff on capital programs including vertical and linear water/wastewater projects
Supervise day-to-day operations including work scheduling, performance evaluation, and disciplinary recommendations
Administer capital and operating budgets, prepare construction estimates, and control expenses
Inspect and monitor contractor and departmental work to ensure compliance with legislation, drawings, and specifications
Coordinate with stakeholders and attend construction sites to resolve issues; prepare detailed reports and status updates
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience
Extensive experience in municipal engineering, contract administration, and construction inspection
Considerable experience in water distribution and/or wastewater collection systems, and vertical projects
Considerable knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation
Valid Province of Ontario class G driver's license and eligibility for City driver's permit
