About this job

Full-time temporary 12-month supervisor role in Toronto's Children's Services division overseeing purchasing and contract administration. Manages procurement staff, administers budgets, processes purchase orders, and ensures compliance with municipal and provincial purchasing regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned staff; manage scheduling, vacation, overtime, and disciplinary actions
  • Administer divisional budget and control expenditures within approved limits
  • Procure goods and services by issuing purchase orders, processing requisitions, and managing SAP inputs
  • Prepare product specifications, Requests for Proposal, and Requests for Quotation
  • Ensure division compliance with City and provincial purchasing regulations, Health and Safety, and Fair Wage requirements

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, or equivalent education and experience
  • Extensive experience managing end-to-end procurement and contract administration including RFQs, RFPs, RFTs, vendor selection, and contract monitoring
  • Considerable experience developing procurement specifications, evaluation criteria, and business cases
  • Experience preparing, analyzing, and monitoring procurement, contract, expenditure, and performance data
  • Experience using ERP systems such as SAP Ariba/Ariba Buying & Invoicing and S4 Hana
