Full-time temporary role (up to 18 months) in the Planning, Development & Building Department responsible for analyzing, compiling, and creating legal survey plans and mapping products to support the City's planning, development, and infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze, compile, interpret, and create Legal Survey Plans and products
Prepare legal survey plans, geographically related base maps, sketches, and drawings
Operate complex, interactive computer programs for survey and mapping data creation
Compile and produce digital maps, plans and sketches using Computer Aided Drafting software
Mentor and provide hands-on training for junior team members
Qualifications
Completion of 3-year community college diploma in Geomatics or related discipline with concentration in Legal Surveys
Minimum 4 years of experience in survey and mapping data compilation
Proficiency with Computer Aided Drafting software, GIS technology, and coordinate geometry software
Knowledge of Ontario statutes and regulations relating to surveys and plans, Ontario Land Registration System, and Ontario Cadastral Survey fabric
Certification as Survey Technologist by Association of Ontario Land Surveyors (asset)
