Semi-technical role assisting Wastewater Treatment Plant Technicians I and II with maintenance, repair, operation, and cleaning of WWTP assets. Position includes standby duty, weekend work, and potential overtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Technicians I and II in maintaining WWTP facilities per preventive maintenance program
  • Service, repair, condition, and overhaul equipment as required
  • Paint, clean floors/walls/glass, maintain lawns, shovel snow, and perform general cleaning
  • Inspect lift stations, record data (flow, hour readings, RPM, starts), and report to Superintendent/Technician I
  • Work standby duty, respond to alarms, and maintain plant operations in absence of Technician II

Qualifications

  • Completion of grade XII or equivalent
  • Valid P.E.I. driver's license and satisfactory driver's abstract
  • Knowledge of wastewater operation, maintenance, and treatment
  • Considerable knowledge of hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work
  • Willingness to obtain minimum Class I Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator and Class II Collection certificates after employment commencement
