This permanent full-time role develops, implements, and maintains training programs for safe vehicle and equipment operation under the supervision of the Roadways, Fleet & Support Training Supervisor. The trainer conducts classroom and practical instruction in defensive driving, heavy trailer towing, and power mobile equipment operation, while researching industry best practices and assessing training effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Conducts classroom and one-on-one practical training in defensive driving for 3A and 1A licences
Conducts classroom and practical training for heavy trailer towing and SGI "G" endorsement
Develops training courses, manuals, and evaluation documentation for vehicle and equipment operation
Develops and implements follow-up audits to assess training program effectiveness and ensure compliance
Provides one-on-one practical training to operators experiencing driving problems identified through incident reports
Qualifications
Grade 12 education
Five years' experience in transportation field including Class 1A loads and training program development and delivery
Valid SGI Driver Training Instructor certification for Class 1 and Class 3 Licence and Air Brake Endorsement
Valid Canada Safety Council Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) and Defensive Driver Course (DDC) Instructor certification
Valid Saskatchewan Class 1A Drivers Licence with no "M" (Automatic) Restriction
