Full-time permanent tree trimmer role with the City of London providing tree maintenance services on road allowances and in parks, including trimming, removal, pest control, and planting. Reports to a Supervisor or designate within the Climate Change, Environment and Waste Management division.
Key Responsibilities
Perform tree climbing, trimming, cabling and bracing using arboricultural practices
Operate aerial bucket trucks and chippers
Remove dead, decayed or hazardous trees and stumps; restore work sites
Clean up fallen and damaged limbs from weather events; chip and haul brush
Trim trees and hedges to maintain sight lines for traffic and visibility; plant and transplant trees
Qualifications
Grade 12 completion in Ontario plus 6-month post-secondary program in Forestry, Urban Forestry, or Arboriculture from recognized Community College or equivalent
Thorough working knowledge of OHSA and forestry operations
Certified Arborist certificate from Ministry of Skills & Labour or International Society of Arboriculture
Current Chainsaw certificate and current First Aid and CPR certificate (or ability to obtain)
Valid Class DZ Driver's Licence
