Full-time Truck & Coach Technician or Apprentice Technician role maintaining and repairing buses and specialized vehicles for Transit Fleet Kitchener. Positions available in Waterloo and Kitchener with afternoon or overnight shifts.

Key Responsibilities

Maintains and repairs buses, diesel/gas-powered vans, service trucks, and support vehicles
Repairs and performs diagnostics on Cummins engines, ZF/Voith/Allison transmissions, and driveline components
Repairs MAN and ZF axles and related suspension parts; performs electrical system diagnostics using laptop
Performs MTO and preventive maintenance inspections, completes reports, and submits to supervisor
Identifies parts, creates parts lists, and orders/receives parts from stockroom

Qualifications

Valid Ontario College of Trades 310T Truck & Coach Technician Certificate, OR Truck & Coach Apprentice (1st-4th year), OR 310S Automotive Technician Certificate with 5 years journeyperson experience and willingness to obtain 310T
Knowledge of vehicle servicing policies, health and safety, WHMIS, and Highway Traffic Act
Knowledge of onboard computerized equipment and diagnostics for Voith, ZF, and Allison transmissions
Valid G driver's license with satisfactory driving record; ability to attain or possess valid DZ driver's license within probationary period
Possession of all applicable hand tools in safe condition; acceptable criminal and judicial matters check for bondability
