Entry-level position in water, wastewater, and storm system operations and maintenance. Assists with system repairs, service connections, and emergency response while working toward EOCP Water Distribution certification.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in operation, maintenance, and repair of water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm water systems
Perform unskilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks related to public works and utilities
Support emergency response efforts such as water main breaks and infrastructure failures
Assist in installation, repair, and replacement of water mains, water services, and related infrastructure
Perform related duties as required
Qualifications
Grade 12 completion supplemented by experience in construction, maintenance, or utility system operations, or equivalent combination of training and experience
EOCP Certification - Operator in Training (desirable)
Working knowledge of water distribution, wastewater collection, and storm systems including operational principles and maintenance procedures
Ability to learn and operate various tools and equipment safely and effectively
Valid Class 5 Driver's License for British Columbia; physical stamina and strength for lifting heavy equipment and working in various weather conditions
