Key Responsibilities
Implement, operate, monitor and evaluate waste minimization and solid waste management programs and projects
Assist in determining program needs and developing programs related to reduction, reuse and recycling of solid waste
Work with public and private sectors to operate waste diversion programs and promote waste minimization activities
Inspect, investigate and interpret bylaws to resolve complaints and violations of the Waste Management Bylaw
Develop and implement information and education programs for the public, business sector, schools and targeted groups
Qualifications
Degree or diploma in Science, Engineering, Geography, Administration, Commerce or related recognized institution
Knowledge of waste minimization principles and recycling business for residential and institutional/commercial/industrial sectors
Ability to communicate effectively through verbal presentations, letters, reports and public speaking
Ability to develop and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with employees, business people and special interest groups
Skilled in computer use with administrative software including word processing, spreadsheet and database
