About this job

Bradford West Gwillimbury seeks two full-time Wastewater Operators to operate and maintain the Class IV Water Pollution Control Plant and Class III Wastewater Collection System. The role reports to the Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor or Wastewater Collections Supervisor and includes day-to-day operations, maintenance, lab testing, and emergency on-call availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain the Class IV WPCP within Environmental Compliance Approval regulations
  • Operate and maintain the Class III Wastewater Collection System and pumping stations using Vactor truck for sewer flushing, repairs, and CCTV camera inspection
  • Perform daily lab tests and microscopic analysis
  • Perform plant operations, maintenance, inspection and repair of wastewater treatment plant, pumping stations and sanitary sewer system
  • Interact with customers, developers, contractors, and the public

Qualifications

  • MOE Wastewater Treatment and Wastewater Collection OIT license (or above)
  • Knowledge and experience in wastewater operations, Vactor truck operations, CCTV sewer camera inspection, SCADA/PLCs, and computerized maintenance management systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff, developers, contractors and the public
  • Valid class G driver's license in good standing (DZ license preferred)
  • Availability to work after-hours emergencies and participate in on-call rotation
