Permanent full-time Water Resources Engineer position reporting to the Manager of Environmental Engineering. The role involves managing water resources, stormwater, and environmental issues related to stream restoration, shoreline restoration, and stormwater/drainage projects, including Class Environmental Assessments, design, and construction delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Review stormwater management reports and studies for restoration and drainage works
- Plan, organize and manage delivery of Class Environmental Assessments, design and construction projects for water resources and stormwater capital projects
- Lead preparation of master drainage plans and subwatershed studies
- Manage cost control, capital expenditures and scheduling for consultant services and engineering studies
- Research, prepare and present reports to Council/Committee for capital projects and environmental assessments
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (Civil Discipline) with specialty in Water Resources/Storm Water Management
- Minimum five (5) years directly related experience in municipal government or consulting engineering environment
- Strong communication, human relations and negotiation skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of water/environmental management principles and technologies, class environmental assessments, budget preparation and scheduling
- Proficiency with CAD, GIS, Excel, PowerPoint and Word software; ideally knowledgeable in hydrologic/hydraulic software (HEC-RAS, Storm, OTTHYMO, etc.)
