Key Responsibilities
Manages short and long-range planning and directs programs and activities at the facility
Manages assigned staff including hiring, scheduling, performance management, and disciplinary action
Secures community support for capital projects through the Saskatoon Zoo Foundation
Negotiates contracts for services, partnerships, sponsorships, and lease arrangements
Ensures zoo compliance with statutes and maintains proper animal husbandry policies and CAZA/AZAC accreditation
Qualifications
Degree in zoology, biology, animal sciences, or related field
Seven to nine years' managerial and supervisory experience in facility operations, attractions, or zoological park
Experience working with volunteer boards and groups
Considerable knowledge of policies, practices, regulations, materials and equipment used in facility operations
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
