2026-093 - Electric Utility Construction & Maintenance Services

This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by the City to submit non-binding proposals for the provision of Electric Utility Construction & Maintenance Services for Overhead and/or Underground Distribution Linework (the Deliverables) as set out in this section of the RFP. The selected Proponent will be requested to enter into negotiations for an agreement with the City for the provision of the Deliverables. The initial term of the agreement will be for a period of one (1) year, with provision for extension for an additional four (4) years in one (1) year increments, at the City’s sole discretion.The City intends to use a qualified utility Contractor to quote on construction/design packages for major projects, such as large customer projects like servicing a new green-field residential subdivision complete with street lighting, large capital/maintenance projects such as a 25kV feeder rebuild, electrical distribution asset replacement, subdivision rebuilds, or inspection and testing of electrical distribution network infrastructure. Aside from the larger projects, the City also intends to use the Contractor to complement City’s own crews during normal business hours, such as during vacation season where the City typically finds itself running one crew short, and emergency responses.
