2026-T-150 - Fort Erie Childcare HVAC Upgrades

This Invitation to Tender (the “RFT”) is an invitation by the Regional Municipality of Niagara (“Niagara Region”) to prospective bidders to submit bids for Fort Erie Childcare HVAC Upgrades, as further described in Section A of the RFT Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The Fort Erie Childcare is a single level ~3,500sq foot building built in 1975. The building utilizes a single Roof Top Unit (RTU) with a single zone thermostat. The Scope of Work includes the replacement of the existing RTU with a new 8-ton heat pump unit. By-pass boxes and electric duct heaters are also to be supplied and installed with duct modifications. The current supply air ducting is leaking throughout the building, and the successful bidder will be responsible for investigating and patching as needed. Due to the higher weight of the new RTU, building roof reinforcement is required as noted in the tender drawings. The designated Substance Survey has identified numerous areas of asbestos within the building including the 2x4 ceiling tiles. The successful bidder will be required to perform a type 2 abatement for the area of work. This work must be completed outside of normal operating hours for the childcare center. This RFT is being issued to all of the Successful Roster Listing developed from Contract 2024-RFSQ-203 specifically Category 2, Mechanical Contractors.
