Al Doran is President of Phenix Management Int’l, a Toronto-based management consulting firm specializing in the effective use of technology in the management of human resource information.
Until April 1996, Al Doran was Director, Human Resources Management Information and Payroll at York University, Toronto Ontario. Al has 30 years of experience in the design, development and application of computer-based information systems with particular emphasis in personnel, payroll and human resource planning functions.
In June of 1996, Al was awarded the prestigious Summit Award, the highest award of recognition by the International Association for Human Resource Information Management. Al is the first and only Canadian to receive this special award.
Al is the co-author of the 1997 HRMS book, published by Nelson Canada as part of their HRM Series. This book has sold out and has was reprinted by Carswell and sold out again. Al teamed up with his fellow authors to write a new book, “HRMS: A Practical Approach”, which was published in January 2000. Check the new web site at http://www.hrmsbook.com.
