The work will involve an update to the Type 1 Fish Habitat mapping that exists for the Township. The existing mapping is based upon MNRF maps and has been incorporated into the Township Official Plan and Zoning By-law.

The Township is seeking responses based upon a two phase approach, as outlined below:

Phase 1 – Review of Aerial Photography

The successful bidder will be provided access to aerial photo imagery for the entire Township and that this information is to be used to confirm existing Type 1 Fish Habitat and to identify new Type 1 Fish Habitat. This would be a desktop exercise only and field verification is not required for this stage.

Consultation with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), the Department of Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) as well as other relevant agencies or groups is expected to be undertaken by the successful bidder.

Phase 2 – Type 1 Fish Habitat Field Verification

The second phase would involve site visits to confirm the presence of Type 1 Fish Habitat. Documentation in the form of photography or video will be expected for this phase of the proposal.
